July: Healing the Gulf Oil Spill

The sun is shining and summer is definitely here, I love this time of year even in the heat. For me though, there is a darkness that I cannot shake and it comes from the sticky oil that seems to endlessly course from the ocean floor. Seeing the oil blobs on the sandy beaches, fisherman desperate to provide us food and animal life covered in blackness is heart breaking. What are we to do?

There is a Facebook copy and paste circulating, maybe you have seen it? It references the work of Dr. Emoto who in his research found that words and feelings can literally change the structure of water: negative words and emotions created distorted murky crystals and positive transformed them into beautiful snowflake like structures. Check out his website
http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/e_ome_home.html or his books like "The Hidden Messages in Water" for life changing information on his research.

I have added below the letter that has circulated...let's commit to being a positive change in our world and watch as miracles happen right before our eyes. A few minutes a day is all it takes:

Right now, most of us have the predominantly angry emotion when we consider what is happening in the Gulf. And while certainly we are justified in that emotion, we may be of greater assistance to our planet and its life forms, if we sincerely, powerfully and humbly pray the prayer that Dr. Emoto, himself, has proposed.

I am passing this request to people who I believe might be willing to participate in this prayer, to set an intention of love and healing that is so large, so overwhelming that we can perform a miracle in the Gulf of Mexico.

We are not powerless. We are powerful. Our united energy, speaking this prayer daily...multiple times daily....can literally shift the balance of destruction that is happening.

We don't have to know how......we just have to recognize that the power of love is greater than any power active in the Universe today.

Please join me in oft repeating this healing prayer of Dr. Emoto's. And feel free to copy and paste this to send it around the planet. Let's take charge, and do our own clean up!

"I send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures and beings in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, corals, algae and all living creatures.....I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you."

Love to you all!

May Newsletter: Rock Hopping

When the sun is shining I can rarely be found indoors.  My back yard leads straight into gorgeous conservation land and if you are looking for me chances are I can be found trekking the land.  I discovered this amazing treasure a year after I moved here and it has been a magical escape.  It has been 4 years now and my most recent walk I realized I was bored.  I wished there were mountains to climb back here.  Although there are no mountains there are tons of glacier rocks protruding throughout the landscape.  Normally I ignore the rocks as they are not on the trails.  To shake things up a bit I pretended I was on a mountain and I could only travel from rock to rock without touching the grass... I later dubbed this rock hopping.  To my surprise I wiled away an hour and a half with my little game and it was a blast (not to mention the amazing butt workout from stepping up and down these large boulders)

My game continued for the next few weeks as I searched for more rocks to "climb" or large downed trees to traverse... does anyone remember the old Atari game called Pit Fall (I know I am dating myself here)? This guy traverses a jungle Indiana Jones style and that is exactly how I felt.  Don't fall off the tree for fear of falling into the quicksand!  When was the last time I lost myself in some good old fantasy?  Kind of like "Where the Wild Things Are" my back yard forest became a jungle filled with danger and new areas to explore off the beaten path.

Rather than taking the regular old path, I found myself climbing all the rocks and trees that formerly were obstacles in my way.  As my walks continued I began searching for more rocks because it was fun.  After a week I realized my back yard jungle fantasy paralleled my reality.   Where I had been afraid to face some fears in my life I finally realized in my core how it was holding me back.  When I began to climb and face my fears instead of avoid them life became like a game.  What would happen next and how would I succeed in getting to the other side.  See my fears still surface but I know I will make it to the other side, I know I can just take it step by step, and hop from rock to rock and then stand in triumph as I bask in the sun.

It became crystal clear when I began to climb a large boulder much taller than me.  Someone had piled some smaller rocks to make a step which I used to hoist myself to the top.  No problem... until I wanted to get down.  This is always the worst for me.  However if I got up, I knew I could get down the same way.  I was in position, one leg dangling over the pile of smaller rocks and the other foot in a crevice.  All I had to do was drop myself down but I could not see the pile of rocks.  Looking down I could see my foot was perfectly aligned but I could not see when I was in position to let go.  I had to trust.  Talking myself into it I reminded myself to trust that the step would be there.... I let go... and of course I landed perfectly.  How often did I avoid an opportunity or something risky and amazing because I was afraid?  I didn't trust and I found myself taking the familiar easy road but I got bored, lost my zest, everything had become ho hum.  Now I rock hop to remind myself to create the fun, step off the familiar path and trust in the magic.

Hugs,

April  Newsletter: Rainbow in the Clouds

Wow, I am absolutely loving this gorgeous sun!  It has been a while since my last newsletter, these days I find myself to be in a state of reevaluating where I am and where I am going. This time of year really energizes me, I feel alive and unstoppable.  Not to mention it is my birthday month, I choose to claim the whole month and make it all about me :) Not sure what to share with you folks, I had 2 of the most amazing experiences and I knew this is what I was supposed to share.

This newsletter focuses on gorgeous color, perfect for spring!  Holi festival (an Indian festival) was the last Sunday in March.  This fun filled celebration of color and diversity includes dancing, singing and of course dowsing each other with amazing colors as we truly become the rainbow.  Springtime Holi offers us new beginnings and FUN!! Sometimes I can be pretty serious and these gatherings remind me to loosen up, laugh more and seriously get over it.  Wow, what an incredible ease washes over me when I finally give into the joy.  Even as I write about it... so breathe in the color and joy.  In fact try a mini meditation right now, and see yourself breathing in the colors of the rainbow.  There are no rules, one at a time or all at once and fill every cell with color and see how you feel.

"Rainbow in the Clouds": Maya Angelou spoke to my heart and reminded me of our power.  The amazing power we have to be the "Rainbow in the Clouds" for another person.  It is so simple that it can be overlooked.  The tiny interactions we have with others throughout our day can truly make or break somebody.  Do not underestimate the power of your smile and kind word to truly be a rainbow in the clouds for another human being.  She reminded me of the simplicity of it all, how making an impact did not have to require a huge undertaking, but maybe a huge shift in perspective.  To remember that we ALL have baggage and sometimes our baggage can get the best of us and we don't act like the light that we really are.  Yet we are embraced by the smile of a stranger, a helping hand or the listening ear of a loved one and we are reminded again in our hearts that we are the rainbow.

Thanks to Maya Angelou for reminding us to be the rainbow in the clouds.  Revel in your beauty, the diverse colors around and in you and honor your heart!

I am so grateful to have you all with me on my journey and I am honored to be with you on yours.

I am happy to introduce a new twist on an old class favorite.  I absolutely love my meditation classes and we have been traveling this amazing journey for a while.  However I have been feeling the need to change it, to expand it.  "Creation Class" kept coming to my mind.  Meditation truly is a way of creating by going inside to our true wisdom and expanding who we are in this world.  In this class we also practice visualizations to create our world anew as we visualize where we want to be.  By changing the class name to "Creation Class" in addition to meditation, I will also offer new ways of creating in your world by exposing you to new techniques and processes so that you can truly reach your potential and experience how magical you are in this amazing world.  This class is dynamic, fun and will include plenty of techniques that you can bring home and incorporate into your everyday practice to a new you.  Which in truth is not really a "new you" but the fabulous you that already resides in you.  Sometimes we just need some dusting off.
