What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced RAY key) is a powerful yet gentle Japanese technique of energy healing that is administered through the hands of a Reiki practitioner who has learned Reiki. Reiki is the universal life force energy and heals on all levels: through mind, body, emotion and spirit and aids the body's natural ability to heal itself. It is an amazing stress reducer, as stress is a major cause of illness and discomfort. Reiki is nondenominational and even if a person does not believe in Reiki, the energy will still flow following its own wisdom to promote relaxation and healing. Reiki does not harm, it is truly a loving energy. Everyone can learn Reiki; it is amazingly simple yet powerful. Most wonderful about this technique is that if you are attuned (the process to connect you with the universal energy allowing you to give Reiki treatments) you can give it to yourself! What a gift!

What Does a Reiki Session Look Like?
During a formal treatment, practitioners usually have you lay on a table, fully clothed. Using specified hand placements, practitioners act as a straw, channeling the energy from the universe (as I described in the Reiki definition the universal life energy) out the practitioner's hands to the person receiving a Reiki treatment. You may or may not feel the energy, people tend to feel relaxed when receiving a treatment.
The energy is not from the practitioner; again the practitioner is only the channel. Reiki can be done with or without the practitioner touching the person receiving Reiki. Reiki has its own innate wisdom and goes to the source of the pain flowing to the area that needs it most, which by the way is not necessarily where you may feel the pain. Reiki can be done anywhere at anytime as needed even in a busy office, lying on the couch watching TV or at a crowded park.
Reiki can be done with the practitioner's hands touching you or not.

Anyone can learn Reiki and the process to connect you with the universal energy allowing you to give Reiki treatments is called an attunement. Using a specified technique, the Reiki Master can open the energy channels in the student allowing the student to then transmit the energy. Some people get attuned for personal use: to work on themselves, friends and family but may never receive payment for services. Others prefer to study Reiki to the master/teacher level and then begin to teach other's about Reiki, the choice is yours.

You will be permanently attuned to Reiki, you will gain an in depth understanding of what Reiki is and how it works with our own healing, the history, the chakra system and how it relates to Reiki, hand positions and you will give and receive a Reiki treatment.

Reiki Level 2:
You will learn 3 symbols which will enhance Reiki. The symbols will increase the power of Reiki, allow the energy to work on an emotional level and you will learn how to send Reiki distantly across space and time. Upon completion of Reiki 2, you may become a practitioner and receive payment for Reiki treatments.

Reiki Level 3
Advanced Reiki Training (ART):
You will learn the Master Symbol to further increase your Reiki capabilities. You will learn how to work with Reiki grids for manifesting. This level is for those who want to become a Master but not necessarily teach Reiki to others. This workshop is required if you want to take the teacher level course.
